Flower art

Now, i don’t really like flowers. Sure they look good but i somehow don’t like the idea of watering them. That’s why i like meadow flowers – they grow without my assistance. I saw a brilliant idea on how to make art with them a while back. You simply take the flowers, dip them in paint and print them on a piece of paper. Of course i wanted to try this flower art!

So I took a few moments and went for a walk to pick the flowers. The imprinting took me less than 5 minutes to complete and it looked way better than I imagined! That’s why I wanna share it with you.

So if you decide to make flower print, you will need:

  • A piece of paper
  • Watercolors of your choice
  • Meadow flowers (whatever grows where you live)

INSTRUCTIONS

If you have watercolors in tubes first squeeze them on a piece of plastic or plastic plate. Note that you will need a space to dip the flowers properly so the usual pallets won’t come in handy. First dip the flower in the water and then on paint so the whole thing gets a bit runnier.
But you can also first mix the colors with water so the dipping is easier. Be careful how you handle your flower because it can break easily. Also watch out so the petals don’t twist awkwardly if you want nice print.

Choose the colors you like and the flowers that look good to you and unleash your mind to all kinds of combinations. I bet you will be surprised how good your final painting looks.

If you are working with a kid however please note that wherever the paint is there is more possible ways to be messy. Chose the colors that are easy to wash from skin as well as from the table you are crafting on.

But most importantly: ENJOY making this flower art!
